Deep inside, this kind of patient has always dreaded being lonely (lonely, not alone!). Many patients rush headlong and indiscriminately into new relationships. But, unconsciously, being abruptly âdumpedâ and lonesome has a disorienting and disconcerting effect (akin to intoxication).
